Niger Delta Youth Council has urged Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to give young people’s appointment to ministerial and other top government positions a high priority during his administration.

The group issued the call in an open letter that was made available to journalists in Warri, Delta State, on Friday. The letter was signed by the group’s president, Comr. Bene Youkore Mamamu, also known as Young Chief.

He declared, “We want young people to be governors, ministers, parastatal heads, state assembly members, and chairmen of local governments.”

The National Youth Council of Nigeria affiliate, the NDYC, specifically requested that youth organizations in the nation be given consideration for appointment to the incoming President’s cabinet.

The NDYC declared, “When the President-elect is sworn in, youths from every region of the country, particularly the Niger Delta, should be the focal point for consideration.

The Arewa Youth Council of the Hausa-speaking Aborigines, the Afenifere National Youth Council, the Ohanaeze Youth Council, the Ijaw Youth Council, and most especially the Niger Delta Youths Council (NDYC) and other illustrious bodies across the nation are just a few examples of such youth organizations.

The NDYC noted that Nigerians anticipate swift economic reforms in the areas of job creation, power, education, technology, and social welfare as well as the expansion of opportunities for Niger Delta youths after the President-elect is sworn in.

The statement read, “The readiness of NDYC to initiate programmes geared at national development and productive engagement of youths to contribute to the success of Tinubu’s administration.”
