Shi’ites break into National Assembly, disrupts plenary

The members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) on Wednesday made their way into the National Assembly precises, as federal lawmakers were holding plenary.

According to reports, they broke down the first gate, then made way to the second gate — As they protest the continued detention of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

Yusuf Lasun, deputy speaker of the house of representatives, who was presiding over plenary, upon getting information about the situation outside, adjourned plenary for the sake of caution.
Meanwhile more security personnel have been drafted to the second gate, and which is not far from where lawmakers sit.
