Apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has lambasted Senator Shehu Sani over his comments on the zoning of the 2023 Presidency by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Comrade Senator had earlier berated Northerners calling for a northern presidency in 2023 urging the ruling APC to zone 2023 Presidency to the South-West.

The group disagreed with the ex-Lawmaker representing Kaduna Central asserting that the southeast deserves the Nigeria number one position, having not produced a President before now.

The Spokesman of the group, Chuks Ibegbu, who made the statement noted that “this type of thinking is responsible for the current state of the nation”.

According to him, “after the North, it’s the turn of the South-East to produce the next President.”
