Nigerian Punished For Smoking In Malaysian Court

A Nigerian was slapped with an RM500 (N45000) fine by a Malaysian Magistrate Court in Kuala Lumpur for smoking in the compound of the Jalan Duta Court Complex.

Malaysia places an embargo on smoking in specific restricted areas.

Ezenwugo Titus Uche, 38, is a popular businessman in the country’s capital.

Magistrate Wong Chai Sia meted out the fine on Uche, who pleaded guilty to the charge, which was recited out to him in English.

The Nigerian didn’t hesitate to pay the fine.

Uche was charged with committing the offence at Aras 2, Mahkamah Majistret Jenayah 8, Kompleks Mahkamah Jalan Duta in April.
