Matthew Kolawole reemerges as Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker

Kogi State House of Assembly has reelected Rt Hon. Matthew Kolawole as the Speaker of the state’s 7th assembly on Thursday.

Kolawole whose unopposed reelection followed the inauguration of the 7th Assembly by the state governor, Yahaya Bello, was the immediate Speaker representing Kabba/Bunu state constituency.

The speakership tussle had been between Hon. Kolawole Matthew from Kabba/Bunu state constituency and Hon. Jimoh Omiata from Yagba East state constituency, but surprisingly had no other nomination made for the speakership position as the Speaker was nominated by Bello Hassan from Ajaokuta constituency and seconded by Momoh Rabiu from Ankpa 11 constituency.
