Kidnapped Germans Regain Freedom In Kaduna

The abducted German archaeologist, Prof. Peter Breunij, and his research assistant, Johannes Buringer, have been freed by security agencies at the weekend.
In a short statement signed by Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s special assistant on media and publicity, Samuel Aruwan, said, “Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai has commended the security agencies for their efforts in securing the release of the Germans.”
Recall that, a German archaeologist, Prof. Peter Breunij and his associate, Johannes Buringer, were abducted last week by unknown gunmen at Jenjela village in Kagarko local government of Kaduna State.
The professor was the leader of a four man team from the university of Frankfurt, Germany working in Nigeria in collaboration with the National Commission for Museum and Monuments and other institutions on the relics of Nok culture in Nigeria.
