Information reaching TheNigerian has confirmed that Chief Donatus Nwankpa, the abducted chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state, has been released by his abductors.
The state publicity secretary of the party, Benedict Godson, disclosed the development to newsmen on Friday, February 1.
According to him, Nwankpa was released by his abductors on Thursday night, January 31.
Godson said Nwankpa who was kidnapped on Monday night, January 28, on his way to Aba, was released without any ransom.
The party’s spokesperson noted that the APC chieftain was released after members of the party pleaded with his abductors to also release him unconditionally on the grounds that he is a good man that is loved by all.
“We thank God for his safe return and we appreciate all those who, in one way or the other, contributed to his safe return,” the party’s spokesperson said.
