After eight years in office, President Muhammadu Buhari has claimed that he has fulfilled his promise to leave behind free and fair elections in Nigeria. He will leave the office in May 2023.
In addition to his neutrality in the election’s administration, he claims that the peaceful conclusion of the general elections in 2023 is evidence of that pledge and will go down in history as one of the proudest accomplishments of his tenure.

In his message of goodwill to Muslims today (April 20) in honor of the Eidel Kabir celebration tomorrow (May 21), which marks the end of the 30-day Ramadan fasting season, Buhari stated that the results of the elections were consistent with his promise to leave a legacy of free and fair elections.
“I’m proud that I’ve leveled the playing field for all contestants, regardless of party affiliation, to produce a fair result for all,” the candidate said.

The President claimed that “free and fair elections are the only principles that give credibility to our democracy because the subversion of the people’s will undermine democracy itself. I never tried to sway the outcome in anyone’s favor at any point in the process.
Muslim leaders received President Buhari’s congratulations for successfully completing the arduous Ramadan fast, which he described as a religious duty.
He prayed for Allah to reward Muslims for their sacrifices made during the fasting season and said, “We shouldn’t forget the important lessons of Ramadan which include improving our bond with the underprivileged and poor members of society. Our ability to appreciate those who go without food every day was made possible by our fasting period abstinence from food and drink.
