The Benue state governorship hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Liambee Jime has promised to establish a beach in Gwer West on the stretches of river bank which snakes through the area.
Jime’s campaign train electrified Naka, the headquarters of Gwer West LGA, yesterday amid a rousing and tumultuous welcome, by excited party supporters and the masses.
The APC governorship candidate, said he is aware of the neglect of area by the incumbent government in the state.
He consolingly encouraged the people never to falter in their resolve to sack the non- performing and irresponsible state Government with the next ballot.
He revealed that with the active support Tyoshin people have extended to him, salvation from the years of stagnation of Benue and impoverishment of the masses lurks in the corner with the bright prospects of his emergence as next governor of Benue come March 2.
” It’s surprising that the stretchy lands of the people of Gwer West linking the banks of River Benue are untilised. The people are not enjoying what this natural resource provides,” he said.
” If you support me to become your Governor, I will establish a beach in Gwer West on the river bank and develop other resources freely donated to us by nature in order to harness all the economic benefits accruing to beaches or river banks as obtained elsewherehere.”
The governorship candidate lamented that Gwer West has one of the largest dams in Benue and a water plant; but ironically, the people still drink water from the ponds because the water plant is in a state of disrepair and the Government has ignored it.
He, however, promised to revive it when elected Governor and also, tar township streets in Naka to give the town a facelift.
Jime also expressed shock that for nearly four years the government in power in the state has not constructed or tarred a single street; built any health center or pulled any development project to Gwer West.
