Breaking: Worry as Buhari issues new directive to ministers after failing to dissolve cabinet

A recent report claims that on May 24, just a few days before the handover ceremony on May 29, President Muhammadu Buhari was unable to disband his cabinet. At the final Federal Executive Council meeting, which he presided over today, Wednesday, in Abuja, many had anticipated that the president would disband his cabinet.

Attempts to dissolve President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet have failed

However, the president instead, directed his minister to return to their offices and continue work, Channels TV reported.

At a conference held shortly after the FEC’s final meeting, the minister of communication and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made this information known. The Information Minister refuted rumours that the Cabinet has been dissolved, despite the president having official photos taken with the council. Mohammed claimed that the dissolution was fake news and noted that the ministers would continue to serve until May 29.

Ortom declares, “I have forgiven President Buhari

According to prior reports, the governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom, insisted he had nothing against President Buhari despite their contentious relationship, which lasted for more than two terms because of the unrest in his state. On May 24, Ortom discussed this development during a live broadcast of “The Morning Show,” the morning show on Arise TV.

Governor Ortom stated that despite his differences with the President and several attempts to twist the narrative against his administration, he had forgiven him.

Deputy and Gbajabiamila fight; details emerge

In another development, on May 24, during plenary, House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and Idris Wase got into a fight. In order to allow members to attend the official opening of the permanent location of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Gbajabiamila had requested that the Order Paper for Thursday, May 25, be lightened. Before calling the plenary to a close, Gbajabiamila revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari would commission the NILDS permanent location on Airport Road at 3:00 PM on Thursday.
