Breaking: Police rescue two US Embassy staff abducted in Anambra

Security personnel have freed the two consulate staff members who were taken hostage on Tuesday during an attack on their convoy in the Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police’s press secretary, informed the media in Awka of this on Friday.

Ikenga claimed that although their names and identities were not made public, they were rescued unharmed by the joint security forces early on Friday.

The two remaining victims who had been kidnapped during the attack on a US convoy along the Atani/Osamela road in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State were freed unharmed in the early hours of Friday, May 19, 2023.

 

Ikenga added, “Operations are still in progress, and further information shall be communicated, kindly.
