Agriculture: China-Nigeria Deepen Bilateral Collaboration

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Chief Audu Ogbeh has expressed optimism that Nigeria is on the path to total food sufficiency.
Chief Ogbeh made the disclosure was made Wednesday in Abuja while receiving a delegation of Hunan Province of China, led by the Governor of Hunan Province – Mr. Xu Da Zhe.
The delegation’s visit is part of China’s trade and economic cooperation to deepen China-Africa bilateral collaboration on Agricultural development and food security.
Speaking shortly after the meeting,  Governor of Hunan Province, Xu Da The said, Nigeria’s policy on agriculture was timely and the surest way to sustain the economic achievements of the present administration.
He assured of his province’s commitment to ensuring the bilateral collaboration succeed.
The meeting which was held at the Minister’s office had members of the delegation, management of the ministry, representatives of some states and investors in attendance, discussed issues on investments in rice production, seed research, and development, training of young and rural farmers, agro-processing and value addition and mechanization among others.
