33-year-old undergraduate emerges Plateau Speaker

Plateau State House of Assembly has elected its speaker and deputy speaker in Jos on Monday.

Abok Ayuba, the lawmaker representing Jos East constituency, emerged the new Speaker of the ninth Plateau State House of Assembly.

Mr Ayuba, a final year law student of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) and a member of All Progressives Congress (APC), represents Jos East State Constituency.

Alongside the Speaker’s nomination was that of the deputy speaker as the elected Deputy Speaker was Mr Saleh Yipmong of Dengi constituency.

The Deputy Speaker’s nomination was moved by the lawmaker representing Langtang Central constituency, Mr Daniel Nanbol of the PDD and was seconded by Nanlong Daniel who represents Mikang constituency.
